STANDING FOR OTHERS – On September 10, 2025, Author John Wayne Houston passionately spoke on behalf of others who are now experiencing the same type of trauma he experienced as a child. He vividly remembers watching the school district bulldoze his family’s home and the scars that their actions left.
Wednesday night, he stood up for those who are having those same experiences today. He asked the school board members to consider what these families would have to endured as they (the school board members) laid safely in their homes. These issue of eminent domain and power have created murky waters. He reminded them that he wrote about his experience in his book Return to the Sunlight and challenged them to read to gain perspective of what these families are experiencing.
